Chapora Fort
Located at a dramatic location, where Chapora River meets the Arabian Sea, it’s the most popular fort in North Goa. And the reasons are quite obvious. People don’t miss this place as it lures them with its breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. Further, the steep slopes on all sides of this fort allow visitors to capture the scenic vistas of Malabar region with sea along its side.

Sinquerim Fort
Located at a distance of 18 km from the capital city, Sinquerim Fort overlooks the Sinquerim Beach and divides the shoreline into two. The fort used to serve as the reference point for goods arriving from Europe, and was also used to guard the territory from the Marathas and Dutch. It is one of the must-visit places in Goa, and you will get to witness magical views of the Arabian Sea, and its impeccable beauty.

Corjuem Fort
Established in 1705 in Goa, Corjuem Fort should be in your itinerary if you are keen to witness the splendid sights that Goa has on offer. It used to serve as the military fortress for the Portuguese army, and now lures travellers because of its unique location.Today, the fort is a protected monument and, although it loses out in size, it makes up for offering its scenic vistas.

Terekhol Fort
Also known as Tiracol Fort, this is another beautiful place in Goa that is known for its breathtaking beauty. To get to this spot, you can take a ferry from Querim to this place. Gracing the Tiracol River, this fort once served as a crucial part of Portuguese maritime defences. During those days, it boasted of a barrack, a tranquil chapel, 12 guns, which has undergone a lot of changes since then. It has now been converted into a heritage hotel, allowing visitors to not only enjoy the view, but also explore the structure closely.

Aguada Fort
It’s undoubtedly one of the most interesting forts in Goa, which has been well-preserved, and overlooks the beautiful Arabian Sea. Don’t forget to take your cameras when visiting here. Also note, do visit this place in late afternoons to enjoy the sights of sunsets from here, which are just mesmerising. Another interesting highlight of this place is the four-story Portuguese lighthouse, which although no longer in use, it’s the oldest and one-of-its-kind in Asia.
