The newly formed government in Karnataka by the Congress is all set to roll out the ‘anna bhagya’ scheme today. However, the government won’t provide anything but cash to the people. Amidst the difficulty, the Karnataka government has decided to provide cash at Rs. 34 per kg to the beneficiary instead of rice. The grand old party had promised in the election manifesto that it would give 5 kg of rice per month provided by the centre to every member of the BPL household. Earlier, the Karnataka government had also alleged that the centre didn’t cooperate in providing additional rice and blamed it for denying rice to the state.
