To make this khichdi, first, we need to wash the dal and rice separately. Once done, soak them in water for around 20-30 minutes. Heat some ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter. Next, add chopped onions and saute until they turn golden brown in colour. Add ginger-garlic paste and tomatoes, and cook for a few more minutes.
